Many glass types, especially our filter glasses HEBO-Series, are suitable for thermal strengthening. This happens while the glasses are carried on a rope belt conveyor through a gas-oven. In most cases the glasses can be used afterwards at higher temperatures, also they are more resistant against breakage. If they break, they will split into many small pieces.

Please be aware, that the glasses can´t be mechanical processed anymore once they are thermal hardened. Also the flatness will warp.

The grade of thermal strengthening can be viewed under polarized light.
